While escorting the offender, Virg Walker, back to Laramie, Slim soon realises things are not always as they seem when he meets prospector Cletis McBain and later a girl, Jinny Malone, stranded in the desert. Add in Virg’s brother who is after the stolen money and it makes for an ‘interesting’ journey. Slim only episode.

Some very good screen time for Jess but this episode is more focused on Slim

Slim and Jess set out to prove the family of 3 women and 3 men are innocent of the rustling accusations. Great pard episode.

Things don’t go to plan and Bill is shot dead, leaving his younger brother Larry to take up the cause. Jess centric with some appearances by Slim.

He and Jess are forced to take an army officer to the site of the wreckage.  Mathew Sherman’s reputation is dependent on the outcome of the investigation. A stranger lurking in cliffs on Sherman property becomes the target of a man hunt when lawman Vanton Madox arrives in Laramie accusing the man, Emil Viktor, of being a killer on the run. When Jess is injured in a fall, Viktor rescues him and Jess is instrumental in proving Viktor’s innocence. Both Slim and Jess are in this episode.

Knowing he is at death’s door, he tells Holby to collect the bounty on him and use it to build a church. When the townsfolk hear about it, a petition is organised by Bob Talmadge to run the Reverend out of town. Jess makes it his business to defend the Reverend and catch the remaining gang members. He trails the kidnappers to a cave only to be included among the outlaws when the girl’s father arrives. With his identification missing Slim must try to prove his innocence before he ends up swinging from the end of a rope. Slim centric episode with a brief appearance by Jess at the end.

All good things come to an end. After 4 great years the final episode of Laramie - episode 124 rolled across our screens.

One of the greatest western series ever made and one of the greatest screen partnerships in Slim and Jess , and the show that made international starts of Robert Fuller and John Smith finally ended.
