Outlaw Bud Carlin threatens the town of Laramie to get Pete Morgan released from jail.  Drifter Jess Harper rides into Laramie to find Morgan and is shot at by the sheriff.  Ranch and relay station owner Slim Sherman finds Jess on his land and promptly kicks him off.  When Morgan escapes, Jess must decide if he will leave town or help capture the fugitive.

The Iron Captain

After stealing an Army payroll, Captain Sam Prado and Dixie Anderson sneak onto the Sherman Ranch to steal fresh horses.  They are caught and during their trial, Prado and Dixie escape taking Jess and Slim hostage.  While holding Jess, Prado sends Slim to fetch his girlfriend, Lita.  Slim must find a way to rescue Jess and find the hidden money.

General Delivery

Hired gunman, Ed Caulder arrives in Laramie awaiting a letter instructing him who to kill.  Jess confronts Ed because he thinks he might be the target.  When Ed says it’s no one in Laramie, everyone relaxes and Jess leaves town on ranch business.  Slim, Andy and Jonesy find Ed injured near the ranch and reluctantly nurse him back to health.  When it’s time for Ed to leave the ranch, he must make a big decision about his future.

She is leaving her husband and asks Jess to take her to Mexico.  Mr. DeWalt hires men to bring Laurel back.  While on the trail, Jess struggles with his ethics, emotions and future plans, but soon finds out the truth about Laurel.

Whit Malone, Slim’s old Army buddy, arrives at the Sherman Ranch on the stage.  Whit tells war stories and gets Slim drunk.  Whit tries to get Slim and Andy to go fishing, but Slim insists on staying because there is too much work to do.  When Whit’s friends arrive with plans to ambush General Sherman, wounded Jess is their only hope for rescue.

Mac, an old Texas friend of Jess, stops by the ranch to buy a horse to chase down an outlaw who robbed him and took his horse.  When an unlawful posse arrives accusing Mac of murder, Jess tries to convince them to look for Vern.  When the posse finds Mac, Retired Judge Hedrick demands to hold a trial at the Sherman Ranch.  Jess desperately rides to capture Vern, while Slim fights for justice and a fair trial.

Father Elliott stops at the Sherman Ranch while on his way to report to Colonel Carlington about Indians having repeating rifles.  The Father is on a mission to the Yellowstone for a peace talk with Sitting Bull and is in search of a guide.  Jess reluctantly agrees to guide Father Elliott and meets up with the gun runners.   It’s a very dangerous trip of faith for Jess and Father Elliott.

Jess, Slim, Jonesy, and Andy attend a fight between heavyweight fighter Terrible Terry Mulligan and the Laramie Blacksmith resulting in Andy being injured in an angry crowd brawl.  Feeling guilty, Jonesy goes to War Bonnet to strike gold to pay the ranch mortgage, but ends up playing piano in the saloon.  Still trying to save the ranch, Jonesy promotes a fight between Slim and Terrible Terry that has the whole mining town in a stir.

Slim receives a letter addressed to his father Matthew Sherman stating Ed Farrell intends to kill Matt for what he did to Ed’s son.  Jonesy informs Ed about Matt’s death, but vengeful Ed intends to kill Slim instead.  Slim doesn’t remember Ed, and gives him a job at the Sherman Ranch.  With Slim in danger, a bounty hunter named Tanner enlists Jonesy’s help to capture Ed Farrell.

Mac, a retired sheriff and old friend of Slim’s wants to buy/lease land to start a ranch.  Numerous criminals arrive in town and the Laramie sheriff and local citizens are worried.  When a ranch is burned down and a stage coach is robbed, the blame is put on Mac’s gunmen/ranch hands.  Slim investigates why the gunmen are on his land and who robbed the stage of the cattle drive money.

Slim and Jess close down the relay station due to Indian conflicts.  U. S. Cavalry troops arrive.  Jess is assigned to scout and Slim is to guide a cavalry troop to Moccasin Pass to blast it closed.  Slim and the soldiers meet trappers with a white woman who was captured by the Cheyenne.  While struggling through mountain snow storms to stop the Cheyenne and Sioux from joining forces, Slim and the soldiers find help from an unexpected source.

Plagued by a severe drought, money is short and Slim and Jess are out of credit.  The stage line is going to close down, so Slim, Jess and Jonesy join a cattle drive to get a decent price for their herd.  Along the trail, the drovers fight Indians who don’t want them to cross their land.  That’s just the start of trouble on their way to Flint City.

Deputy Jess is transporting prisoner Gabe Reynolds from Cheyenne to Laramie to stand trial for brutally killing his wife.  They are riding on a stage coach with a judge, a preacher, a lady and a Mexican.  The coach is overturned by a Mexican group who wants Gabe.  The passengers’ true colors come out when they’re under siege and the truth is finally revealed.

Three men rob the Laramie bank.  Billy Pardee, one of the outlaws is caught and put in jail.  Sheriff Mort is injured and talks Slim into taking his place as sheriff.  With a trial and threat of a jail break, Slim and Jess try to get the men of Laramie to help them protect the town from Pardee’s friends.

Jess gets rowdy in the saloon and shoots the sheriff.  On the run, Jess is recruited by a group called the Midnight Rebellion, a private army that took over a town near the Canadian border.  When Jess finds out the true purpose of the group, he helps Jeanette Doran and her father in their cause.

Slim drives an injured Jonesy to town and meets a broken down wagon train.  The wagon wheel had been fixed, but Glen Bentley is angry about the high price and attacks the unarmed blacksmith.  Slim shoots Glen in the saloon but quickly takes him to the doctor’s office.  Slim tries his best to find the doctor, but lies, anger and revenge put Slim in great danger.

Deputy Jess and Marshal Stewart are searching for Frank Banister who escaped from prison.  Jess has a personal stake against Banister who killed most of Jess’ family.  The Banister gang ambush Jess and Stewart crossing a deep river on their way to Fort Defiance.  Banister captures the fort’s scout Reb and holds him hostage in exchange for the law men.


This episode was a Spin Off for a new series which ultimately did not get picked up..

A Laramie introduction and ending were added so it could be used as an episode in Laramie.
