Nursing a bad tooth ache, Jess reluctantly travels with Daisy to Cheyenne to see a dentist.  On the trip home, Jess escorts Devon who robbed the Laramie bank.  When the stage breaks a wheel, the passengers take refuge in the ghost town of Jubilee, and must defend themselves against Devon’s gang.  Jess centric episode with some Slim at the start and end.

Joe Vance is in jail for killing mountain man Warren Sanford.  Ben Sanford (Pa) leads his remaining sons Carl and John on a quest to hang Vance.  As Vance is being transported to prison by stage, the Sanfords take over the Sherman Relay Station to capture Vance. Both Slim and Jess in this episode.

Ruthless Matt Dyer and his gang rob the Granite City bank and take the banker hostage.  Jess stops by the Tolliver Ranch to tend his lame horse.  Dyer and his gang arrive to hide out from the posse.  They hold Jess, Bud, Ma and Sue hostage and bully and challenge their captives for entertainment.  Romance and bravery are tested as everyone’s true character is revealed. Jess centric episode, no Slim.

Jess saves a young Indian from a ruthless scalp hunter and brings the boy to the ranch.  An Army surgeon operates on the boy’s injured leg, but tensions between the soldiers and the Indians escalate when it is discovered the boy is the son of Chief Red Wolf. Both Slim and Jess in this episode.

However, the two become unlikely allies when Slim’s condition deteriorates and the girl has an attack of conscience. Slim centric episode. No Jess.

Things were looking up for Sandy Catlin until his outlaw stepbrothers ride into Laramie.
