It’s Christmas eve and under Indian attack the stage coach driver and passengers take refuge at the Sherman ranch along with a Mexican Bandito who has his eye on the strong box. A mix of personalities makes for an interesting dynamic, each learning a little something about themselves in the face of danger. Excellent episode for both Slim and Jess. |

Acting as deputy, Jess lets prisoner Harry Markle go free believing he owes the man a debt for saving him from hanging several years earlier. Somewhat embarrassed by the act and figuring the debt is repaid, Jess then trails the man to the town of Dagget and applies some detective work to determine Markle’s innocence or guilt. This episode has generated a lot of discussion about the legitimacy of one particular scene which puts Jess and Slim at odds with one another. Excellent episode for both Slim and Jess. |

Slim is desperate to prove his innocence but his pleas fall on deaf ears. It seems his only chance rests with those who handed him over to the law in the first place. Longley wants Slim to convince the Laramie sheriff he was not responsible for the death of his deputy. Although against his principles, Slim agrees to help Longley prove he is innocent of that crime. Jess is determined to help when Dixie is wounded and hides him and his girl in a line shack on the Sherman ranch. Things come to a head when Dixie holds up the stage and Jess is forced to make a decision. This episode has another controversial scene which has been the topic of much discussion. An excellent episode for both Jess and Slim. |
