When Slim threatens to sell Andy’s ornery palomino, Andy runs away from home with his horse. He becomes mixed up with a band of outlaws who are planning to rob the bank in Cheyenne.  Andy learns a lesson about life and Slim realises his brother is growing up.  Some Jess at the start of the episode.

Determined not to be put off by Jessup’s strong-arm tactics, Jess eventually finds support from Matt’s girl Mae and Chuck the town deputy. Jess centric, no Slim.

Slim hires Luke Gregg as an extra ranch hand.  Jess suspects Luke has more on his mind than just ranching but both Slim and Andy think Jess’s concerns are unwarranted. Things come to a head when Sheriff Cory is shot and pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place. Will Slim realise the truth before it costs Jess and Andy their lives? Excellent episode for both Slim and Jess.

Slim goes after them to make sure Jess is safely delivered to trial. Excellent pard episode.

When his son is killed on Sherman property, old man Parkison resurrects a family feud and challenges Slim to a gun duel. Slim resists until Jess is taken hostage and threatened with a hanging at sun up if Slim doesn’t show up for the duel. Great Pard episode.

It’s Christmas eve and under Indian attack the stage coach driver and passengers take refuge at the Sherman ranch along with a Mexican Bandito who has his eye on the strong box. A mix of personalities makes for an interesting dynamic, each learning a little something about themselves in the face of danger. Excellent episode for both Slim and Jess.

Clay Jackson fancies himself as a modern day Robin Hood, robbing the rich and sparing the poor. When he saves Jess’s life, Jess feels a certain loyalty towards him. After Jackson robs the stage coach, Slim goes on a mission to prove Jackson’s guilt despite the townsfolk wanting to protect him. Great episode for both Slim and Jess.

When Slim’s new hired hand, an Indian named Joe Cloud, is killed by neighbour Carl Vail, Slim is determined the man face trial for murder. Amidst opposition from the townsfolk and threats from Carl’s sons, Slim perseveres with his pursuit of justice and telegraphs General Taylor Roberts who is involved in peace treaty negotiations with the Sioux.  Slim focused episode with plenty o f screen time for Jess.

Stolen Tribute

Newly released from prison, Clint Wade forces Jess to take him to Utah to recover $80,000 in stolen Gold Eagles. During the journey the two are joined by Clint’s ex-cell mate Deke Beldon. Jess makes a torturous trek through the desert, the two outlaws depending on him to lead them to waterholes along the way. By the time they reach their destination, Jess is battered and travel-worn and meets an unlikely ally in Tully Casper, but can Jess really trust him? Jess centric episode.

Slim is accused of killing George Blake when Blake reneges on a cattle deal.  Jess must try to prove his pard’s innocence. Between Blake’s widow, a man known as ‘The Senator’, wanted murderer Clint Moccasin and a mysterious spur people are willing to kill for, Jess has his work cut out for him in his quest to clear Slim. Jess has the majority of screen time.

While riding back to the ranch with vet Tom Kingsley and a woman – Sandy - accused of cheating at cards, the three are kidnapped by outlaw Phil Yuma. Phil’s brother Ben has a slug in his chest and Phil mistakes the vet for a Medical Doctor. Tom is forced to operate on Ben while Slim and Sandy are held hostage. Small amount of screen time for Jess.

Gil Spanner is a key witness in the trial of Chad Farrell. Marshal Craig is escorting him back to Cheyenne when Craig gets hurt. Unable to keep riding he and his prisoner take refuge at the Sherman ranch where they, along with Slim, Jess and Farrell’s wife Valerie, come under siege from Farrell’s men who are intent on killing Spanner before he can testify. Equal screen time for Slim and Jess

With a little help from Hap’s daughter Holly, Jess aims to uncover the truth about McClintock and his mysterious brother Charlie. Excellent Jess episode.

Slim acts as guide, believing the ‘professor’ has a legitimate claim to a mine he shared with a now deceased associate. Slim centric episode with limited scenes for Jess.

Somewhat embarrassed by the act and figuring the debt is repaid, Jess then trails the man to the town of Dagget and applies some detective work to determine Markle’s innocence or guilt. Jess centric episode. Slim at the beginning and end.

He and Slim take him in and offer him work, but Fred brings a passel of trouble with him in the form of 2 hired guns working for the father of a man Fred killed in self defence.  This episode has generated a lot of discussion about the legitimacy of one particular scene which puts Jess and Slim at odds with one another. Excellent episode for both Slim and Jess.

Slim is desperate to prove his innocence but his pleas fall on deaf ears. It seems his only chance rests with those who handed him over to the law in the first place. Slim centric episode, Jess in the tag.

Excellent episode for Jess. No Slim.

Notorious outlaw Doc Longley sends one of his men to invite Slim to come visit... at gun point. Slim decides he’d prefer to do it his way, over powers the gunman and goes voluntarily. Longley wants Slim to convince the Laramie sheriff he was not responsible for the death of his deputy. Although against his principles, Slim agrees to help Longley prove he is innocent of that crime. Slim centric episode. Jess is at the start and in the tag.

Jess and Slim find themselves on opposite sides of an opinion when Dixie Howard, a man Jess once rode with, arrives in Laramie and shoots a man dead.  Jess is determined to help when Dixie is wounded and hides him and his girl in a line shack on the Sherman ranch. Things come to a head when Dixie holds up the stage and Jess is forced to make a decision. This episode has another controversial scene which has been the topic of much discussion. An excellent episode for both Jess and Slim.

A Sioux outbreak wreaks havoc on the stage line with regular Indian attacks bringing the threat of road closures. Slim along with Lon, the stage driver, take on the task of fixing the old Laramie road as an alternative route, employing a crew of men with tetchy tempers. A series of mishaps lead to suspicion and mistrust amongst the workers. Slim centric episode.
