 Jess rescues reformed safecracker Gandy Ross from Indians, but Gandy has another problem. An outlaw named Wellman wants him to return to his former profession.

Trivia : Robert Hoy went on to play a cast regular in The High Chaparral - he played ranch hand Joe Butler. He also worked with Robert Fuller again in the Bonanza follow up Bonanza : The Next Generation.

Trivia : How is this for continuity - Bartlett Robinson used to play the sheriff of Laramie in season 1. In this episode he appears again and refers to the time he used to be Sheriff !!!!

 Slim tracks down Hank McGovern who wounded Jess in a robbery. He is forced to kill him in self  defence, a story the local posse will not believe.
